Welcome
We are pleased to welcome you to the 6th Symposium on Computational Chemistry (6SQC) of the Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ) and the Southern European Conference on the Science of Molecules (SECSMol '27).
Since its first edition in 2016, the Symposium on Computational Chemistry, organized by the Computational Chemistry Group of SPQ, has aimed to bring together the national Computational Chemistry community. The goal is to foster closer interaction among colleagues, knowledge sharing, and the discussion of topics of common interest, whether scientific in nature or related to the development and dynamics of our community. Participation by students and young researchers is strongly encouraged. The sixth Symposium will take place at the University of Aveiro on 6 September 2027, preceding the international conference SECSMol '27.
SECSMol '27 aims to bring together chemists and physicists from Southern Europe who share an interest in fundamental problems at the atomic and molecular scale. The conference is conceived as a dynamic and informal forum, distinct from the rigid format of large international meetings with overly dense schedules. The atmosphere is designed to be collegial and socially engaging, promoting scientific exchange in a friendly and constructive environment.
The scientific scope of SECSMol '27 encompasses both experimental and theoretical perspectives, with a focus on the structure, properties, and dynamics of complex molecular, cluster, and nanoscopic systems. Contributions addressing fundamental issues in molecular, chemical, and materials physics are especially welcome.
In line with its tradition, SECSMol '27 is organized as a low-cost conference, facilitated by local organizing committees and supported by resources from host institutions whenever possible.
SECSMol '27 is a three-day event that will take place at the University of Aveiro on 7-9 September 2027.
